John Christopher Cellars is a small, vital Livermore Valley winery owned by Tom and Chris Doczy. Tom makes the wine, although it is very much a collaborative effort between Tom and Chris. Tom makes full-bodied Petite Sirah and Zinfandel, wonderfully rich and balanced Chardonnay and several complex red blends, such as the incredible Starfall.
Winemaking is a passion for Tom. He has been making wine for over 35 years, first as a hobby and now in his own winery. Moving to Livermore full-filled their dream to someday produce quality wine under their own label. The winery name is derived from the couples 2 son's middle names, John and Christopher.  The first wine produced for commercial sale was the 2001 Zinfandel and the 2001 Petite Sirah. Both quickly sold out. John Christopher Cellars produces wine from fruit that is selected from only the highest quality vineyards with exceptional vineyard management. Working with the growers, Tom has been able to craft wines with uncompromising flavor and character.  Most of his current focus is on red wine, though Chardonnay is also a favorite. Both Chard's are produced from Livermore Valley grapes and are a favorite among Chardonnay lovers who value lively fruit and a rich buttery finish.
Tom or Chris is usually present at the elegant tasting room located in downtown Livermore at the historic Blacksmith Square.  And of course, the wine - the star of the show- can be sampled and bought here.  They also pride themselves on offering their customers a complete wine tasting experience, including live music in the spring through summer months on the lovely and relaxing outdoor courtyard.  The music ranges from rock n'roll, country, folk and everything in-between.  The convenient downtown tasting room location offers ample parking, nearby boutiques and shops, as well as a wonderful array of downtown restaurants, which will also enhance the wine tasting experience.

We have NEW Summer hours! We are now conveniently open from12:00 PM until 6:00 PM Thursday - Sunday starting this weekend, March 15th.  This is especially great if you are planning on visiting a downtown restaurant and want to bring along a JCC wine to have at dinner. Many restaurants do not charge corkage fees on our wine; ask us who!

Our wine is now available at Star Anise Restaurant. They are located at 2470 First St. in downtown Livermore. This restaurant features modern Thai cuisine with a touch of the South Pacific. We thoroughly enjoyed a dinner we recently had there and LOVE that our wine is now available at this wonderful new restaurant. It's a PERFECT pairing! Call them at (925) 454-9888 for a reservation.

John Christopher Cellars is proud to partner with Simply Fondue in downtown Livermore. If you have never experienced fondue, you must head over and try this restaurant. There are many menu choices, but by far the most popular are the Dinners for Two. This choice offers you a 4 course meal with a wonderful variety of food including a salad, a cheese fondue, an entree and a to die for dessert fondue.

Coming soon, they will feature a Wine Makers Dinner where each of the courses will be paired with a very special wine from local Livermore wineries.

They also offer you an opportunity to bring your own special Livermore wine to the restaurant and on Wednesdays they waive the corkage fee - how nice!!
